About Power Transistor

A transistor is a semiconductor device that is used to switch or amplify electrical signals. Power transistors, as the name indicates, carry or dissipate more power than smaller transistors. They improve the switch performance and efficiency while enhancing system reliability, thereby increasing the power efficiency of electronic products while ensuring little or no power loss. Power transistors are used in both low- and high-voltage applications in sectors such as automotive, consumer electronics, and power and energy. For example, an infotainment system in a car, such as the radio, in-dash screen, and CD player, requires a power transistor to ensure proper power distribution between the different devices. Each device has a specific and different power requirement and the power transistor ensures the correct power is sent to these devices.
