Voice over Mobile Broadband (VoMBB) is defined as end-to-end connectivity of standard cellphone calls over mobile broadband networks such as Wi-Fi, LTE, and HSPA. VoMBB provides a number of advantages to telecom carriers such as support of high quality audio, cost reduction per subscriber, improved spectral efficiency , and user terminal power savings. VoMBB can also offload voice capacity to other technologies such as Wi-Fi. Further, with the higher penetration of HSPA than LTE, VoHSPA will acquire the market faster than its contemporary, VoLTE during the period 2014-2018. Additionally, the Wi-Fi supported small cell technology will open great avenues for VoWi-Fi.
