Abstract
With developed nations deregulating their telecom policies, Internet
penetration rates rising, and active promotion by broadband service providers,
VoIP service has begun to take off all over the world. Both the number of VoIP
subscribers and sales of VoIP equipment have grown steadily.
Taiwanese makers have been working with leading international broadband access
equipment vendors, and have built up strong ODM partnerships; they are also
major players in the international bid market. Taiwan has thus become a
leading production site of residential VoIP equipment. However, due to the
diversity in ODM customers and IC suppliers, the Taiwanese residential VoIP
equipment supply chain has taken many different forms. This report will
analyze Taiwanese VoIP equipment makers' business models.
