As a major manufacturer of PICCs, CVCs and dialysis catheters, Bard entered the market with the Site~Rite® system in 2000. At the time, Doppler ultrasound systems, such as Escalon's PD Access™, were the only ultrasound machines manufactured for the purpose of vascular access.
