Their significant elderly population will continue to grow and result in more procedures and unit sales propelling the market. The fastest growing segment was bone cements, as cemented hips and knees still remain the most popular device type and will continue to do so due to the growing elderly demographic.

The Indian large joint replacement market was led by DePuy Synthes in 2015. The company, which held a 43.8% share of the market, led the hip replacement, knee replacement and bone cement markets. Other big players include Zimmer Biomet, Stryker, Smith & Nephew and many others.
