Abstract
This study looks at the ecosystem around software-as-a-service (SaaS) and in
particular examines how different the players' roles are compared to those in
the conventional on-premises software market. "SaaS makes changes to the roles
that partners play in software vendors' ecosystems, some of them quite
radically. Since SaaS is the most vibrant part of the software market, partner
organizations need to learn how to engage with it," said David Bradshaw,
research manager for the European Software-as-a-Service program at IDC.
