Abstract
As the business environment looks increasingly challenging it becomes
particularly important to understand IT budget dynamics across vertical markets.
This study provides an overview of future IT budget dynamics, on how Western
European companies chose their IT suppliers, and on the satisfaction level.
Results are based on IDC' s European Vertical Markets Survey, carried out in
November 2007 among 2,076 companies across 10 vertical markets in the top 5
Western European countries.
"As the economy slows down in Europe, it becomes extremely important to segment
the market in order to understand where real IT opportunities lie. Indeed, each
vertical market has different IT budget dynamics, but it appears clear that,
across industries, companies are looking for better customer services and for
high value-added IT services," said Angela Vacca, consulting manager, European
Vertical Markets.
