This IDC study examines the SaaS and cloud software market in 2016 and includes a list of the top 100 cloud software vendors by revenue."The leading 20 cloud software vendors account for 47.8% of the cloud software market in 2016, which is the same as in 2015, representing a slight trend toward market consolidation, but still reflective of a market with a 'long tail' of many smaller vendors that make up a meaningful portion of the market," said Amy Konary, program VP, SaaS and Digital Business Models research at IDC. "Nearly all major independent software vendors (ISVs) have continued to increase their emphasis on cloud-based offerings and focus on SaaS and cloud software sales. The market opportunity for ISVs with no SaaS or cloud software offering is dwindling."
