This IDC study examines the vendor revenue performance in the CRM applications market for 2015. The CRM applications market grew an outstanding 7.3% in 2015 to reach $29.3 billion in revenue. Despite acquisitions, the top 5 vendors represented 37.3% of the total market, showing an expanding, not consolidating market. "Whether referred to as customer handling, customer experience, customer engagement, or customer centricity, the focus of end users is to differentiate based on how they engage with their customers," says Mary Wardley, research vice president for IDC's CRM Applications and Customer Experience. "Such differentiation cannot be commoditized. However, creating such environments requires holistic organizational strategies. Those that can enact such change will be ahead."
