This IDC study presents the five-year forecast for worldwide business use smartphone shipments by operating system and user type (consumer, individual liable, and corporate liable). It is part of IDC's continuing research with respect to mobile devices. Findings in this document are based on information gathered from primary and secondary sources during the past six months."Business users can expect to use either an Android device or an iOS-powered smartphone throughout the forecast period," says Bryan Bassett, research analyst for IDC's Enterprise Mobility: Deployment Strategies program. "However, going forward, enterprise organizations should be less concerned with what device an employee uses and instead focus attention on how mobile endpoints are managed and what software solutions are enabling mobile productivity."
