This IDC study discusses the videoconferencing (VC) solutions in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan), or APEJ, and key trends identified by over 1,300 enterprises from a broad spectrum of industry verticals, based on IDC's APEJ Communication and WAN Usage Study, 2014. Together with the results revealed by the IDC APEJ Semiannual Unified Communications, Collaboration, and Video Tracker 1H14, IDC's Unified Communications as a Service Forecast 2014-2018, and APEJ Enterprise ICT Outsourcing and Managed Services Forecast, this study does not only provide important indicators for vendors and service providers to understand enterprises needs and what they mean to the industry at large, but also highlights a strategic road map to cater to the needs of enterprises in adhering to the VC transformation landscape.

"Although cloud-based VC is anticipated to proliferate in the region, IDC identifies lackadaisical growth in massive cloud migration with slimmer percentages recorded moving upward in cloud migration hierarchy, or rather, in adoption of a phase approach or hybrid deployment model in VC solutions," says Hwee-Xian Tan, market analyst, Communications, IDC Asia/Pacific. "For service providers, having multiple offerings to choose from is key to success as there is no 'one size fits all' solution," Tan adds.
