This IDC study examines the practice of eDiscovery collection in United States-based corporations. Specifically, the study captures the perceived effectiveness of eDiscovery processes and communication from legal hold through data collection. The results from this study tend to indicate that corporate discovery practices have matured significantly and eDiscovery practitioners and IT professionals are gaining confidence in the efficacy of those processes.
"The legal technology industry has taken extraordinary steps over the past several years to ensure that IT professionals, eDiscovery experts, and attorneys understand the benefits of new data collection technologies. More importantly, however, the industry has demonstrated the efficiencies and benefits gained from mixing good technology with outstanding communication. Seemingly, this mix is starting to pay off for corporate discovery practices," said Sean Pike, program director, eDiscovery and Information Governance Research.
