This IDC study is based on IDC's latest European Enterprise Services Survey carried out in February-March 2015 among 805 European organizations. The study is part of a series of reports examining different aspects of European organizations' IT services investment plans, buying behavior, and satisfaction with IT services and their vendors.
"Although workplace services ranked lower in importance than other areas, vendors would be unwise to think they are no longer very important for ICT buyers. Whichever form factor they take, workplace devices are often the only touch point between the enterprise and its employees. In that sense, the quality of experience provided by workplace devices is positively correlated to the level of satisfaction an employees have toward their own IT departments," said Lionel Lamy, associate vice president, IDC European Desktop and Workplace Life-Cycle Services. "Vendors must find the right balance between traditional, cloud-based, and mobile services in the workplace spectrum. Cost remains important but is not the only determining factor - quality of services delivered and end-user experience are also crucial."
