This IDC study quantifies the U.S. monochrome laser A3 and A4 MFP market opportunities and analyzes issues, trends, and product advances in this market. The forecast tables show 2007-2012 actual unit shipments, value of shipments (end-user spending), and average selling value, whereas 2013-2017 data is projected.
"It is inevitable that the market is quickly moving toward lower-cost A4 MFP solutions, even in traditionally dominated A3 office environments," says Keith Kmetz, program vice president, IDC Hardcopy Solutions. "However, we do see a need for the coexistence of both configurations, particularly in the 45ppm and above segments."
