This IDC study discusses the factors that we believe will have the biggest impact on social media and social business across the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region in 2012. "Understanding the value of the term "social," both for internal and external purposes is fast becoming an important business priority. Although many IT departments are still dismissing it as something related to marketing and, essentially, unrelated to IT, some have begun to understand the important role that the IT department and the CIO in particular have to play in the social strategy of the business," says Claus Mortensen, principal, Emerging Technology Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
