This IDC study outlines the key findings and analysis of the Mobile Enterprise Developer Survey, 4Q11. The partnership between IDC and Appcelerator produces this IDC study. The survey and subsequent study are administered on a quarterly basis to analyze the plans, interests, and perceptions of developers for enterprise applications. "Windows Phone coupled with its Nokia partnership may enable the OS to solidify its positioning behind Apple and Google," says Suzanne Hopkins, research analyst, Mobile Services. "There is interest among developers for a third operating system. According to the 4Q11 survey, 26.4% of developers plan to write applications to three OSs, but Windows Phone will need to continue to market its advantages to the developer community to sustain its current positioning."
