This IDC study (a translation of the Japanese document IDC #J11380106) analyzes vendor trends in the Japan mobile working market. The market will continue to grow with the advancement in mobile network technologies and the broadening range of business mobility equipment being introduced. In this study, we look at mobile working population trends, implementation rates of mobile working devices, and strategies adopted by vendors/systems integrators for future growth. "In order for the Japan mobile working market to maintain growth, it is important for vendors/systems integrators to capture short-term business continuity planning (BCP) needs and provide support for smartphones/media tablets, which are the drivers of the future market," says Takashi Manabe, research manager, Software & Security, IDC Japan.
