This IDC study (translation of the Japanese version IDC #J11200108) analyzes the Japan mobile security market in 2010 and provides forecasts for 2011-2015 by functions: mobile identity and access management (MIAM), mobile secure content and threat management (MSCTM), and mobile security and vulnerability management (MSVM). Many companies have no defined policies based on internal compliance with regard to smartphone usage. The number of employees using their personal smartphones to access internal resources such as internal email and calendars also increases. When deploying solutions to strengthen security measures for mobile devices such as smartphones, the majority of policy design work will be during the deployment period. User companies need to rapidly define policies based on internal compliance with regard to leveraging mobile devices such as smartphones in order to achieve early deployment, and vendors should be proactive right from the policy design stage," says Tsuneo Tosaka, research manager, software and security, IDC Japan.
