This IDC study analyzes the U.S. Ethernet services market. In addition to discussing key trends, it forecasts E-LAN, E-Line, and access circuits/port, and revenue from 2010 to 2015. It also forecasts EPL, EVPL, and VPLS revenue for the same time frame.

"Demand for Ethernet connectivity remains more robust than ever. Today, datacenter connectivity, disaster recovery/business continuity, and datacenter storage replication are the three primary applications driving adoption of Ethernet. Ethernet's high bandwidth, cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and ability to carry multiple types of traffic make it well suited for connecting many large and now more medium-sized enterprise business locations, headquarters, or regional hubs to one or multiple datacenters. Enterprises are continuing to expand the use of Ethernet for VoIP, video, and other real-time applications because Ethernet services have become as robust as private line and packet services.
