This IDC study provides an assessment of the current capabilities and business strategies of the leading unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) solution providers in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ region. "There is a group of vendors that are able to offer the UC&C solution, integrated with all the major functions based on their own products, as well as the products of their partners in the APEJ market. Customers have a variety of options to migrate to, or even build their UC&C platforms from scratch with, but choosing the right vendor(s) and the appropriate platform(s) is never easy. For the purposes of this study, we focused on the APEJ UC&C market. The results of the overall scores reflect IDC's analysis of the relative strength of each company. Yet, IDC suggests that selecting a solution provider should be based not just on the overall score, but also on factors related to the demand of the company itself, such as the UC&C features needed, the need to leverage previous investments, efficiency/productivity improvement, cost savings, communications-enabled business process (CEBP) integration, business transformation, and/or revenue-generating opportunities and so on," says Sherrie Huang, research manager, Communications and Collaboration.
