The consolidation of enterprise IT resources to datacenters and the increase in service facilities providing Internet services are two factors that expand the datacenter network infrastructure market. As the market continues to grow, IDC believes that the developing trend toward enterprise IT consolidation and virtualization technology utilization and changes in datacenter network architecture will influence product development and market structure.

Within datacenter network architecture changes, "product commercialization should be achieved rapidly while keeping an eye on the standardization and demand trends of core technologies and functions for configuring datacenter network architecture. Further, steps should be taken to examine mutual connectivity between competitive vendors, interface card vendors, storage vendors, and so forth. Increasing product and technology maturity is important because once demand is actualized, a relatively mature product lineup will lead to increased competition, which in turn will lead to new markets," says Kenichi Kusano, senior market analyst, Communications, IDC Japan.
