This IDC study provides an assessment and five-year forecast of the Philippine mobile broadband market. IDC estimates combined revenues from mobile surfing and portable broadband to have reached US$182 million in 2010, representing 107% year over year (YoY) growth. "Growth in the mobile broadband market opens a sizable can of opportunities for a wide range of players, such as in the area of content, applications, and security, among others. It also opens the door for various players for pioneering and crafting totally new opportunities," says Karen V. Rondon, research manager, Mobile and Wireless Telecommunications, IDC Philippines.
