Abstract
This IDC study (a translation of the Japanese report IDC
#Japanese report IDC #J11020103) analyzes the trends in the Japan
wide area Ethernet and IP VPN markets in 2010 and
provides forecasts for 2011–2015. We explore the growth trends, future
sizes, and competitiveness of these markets, as well as the
new services launched by carriers and the aims of carriers
in introducing the services.
"In the Japan wide area Ethernet and
IP VPN markets, the pace of growth will slow down
and further signs of saturation will surface. Meanwhile, the cloud
services market will continue to expand. It will be important
for carriers to pay more attention to network and cloud
integration, and cost reduction. Besides service development, carriers should hasten
to implement sales systems that are aligned with the businesses
of customer companies, and review their provisioning and monitoring processes,"
says Yoko Ono, senior market analyst, Communications, IDC Japan.
