Abstract
This IDC study contains our worldwide IP PBX and desktop
hardware IP phone forecast for 2008–2014. It provides a forecast
for the total IP PBX market (pure and hybrid) by
lines/seats shipped, IP PBX systems, and desktop hardware IP phones
shipped. IDC estimates for manufacturers' revenue are also included.
"The rapid
collapse and subsequent bailout of the global banking system and
ensuing economic turmoil created a radically different context for global
economic growth in late 2008 and into 2009," states Jonathan
Edwards, IDC research analyst, Unified Communications. "In regard to IP
telephony spend, enterprises remained cautious across the globe and invested
only when those investments could create near-immediate cost savings and/or
dramatically improve operational efficiencies."
