This IDC study examines the major issues expected to impact
the Canadian software market in 2010.The Canadian software market has
benefited from a strong history of innovation that has made
and continues to make Canadian businesses more productive and competitive.
"While there are a number of new and interesting technologies
emerging in the software market, the pace of change will
be dictated by businesses and their willingness to make large
and significant changes to the way in which they conduct
and manage their operation. These changes do not typically happen
overnight, but there are numerous paths that can be taken
and new, innovative approaches to software and software delivery designed
to keep Canadian business competitive," says Jim Westcott, research manager,
