Abstract
This IDC study examines the current state of the VoIP
market and its prospects for future growth in each of
the 11 Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ countries. It also
examines the key drivers shaping the market and how new
players are changing the rules. It also provides brief profiles
of the SPs in each country.
"2009 showed a large drop
in the PSTN revenue in APEJ. The increased use of
VoIP services is a threat to traditional SPs' PSTN revenue.
As a result, many of these operators have now started
providing VoIP services to retain their customers and prevent customer
churn," says Kenneth Liew, senior analyst, Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific.
