This IDC study provides a sizing of the B2B middleware market in 2008 and a 2009–2013 forecast. Historical and forecast revenue data is shown for the total worldwide market by geographic region and operating environment. This document does not contain vendor-specific revenue, market shares, or vendor profiles.

“The fundamental need for this type of software is present, particularly where there are industry standard transaction formats and/or regulatory imperatives related to security and accounting that require multienterprise solutions to help enterprises cope with increasingly complex commerce systems,” according to Maureen Fleming, program director, BPM and Middleware. “Vendors should focus both on the reliability of their solutions and on the ease of administering them so that they can maximize their benefit to the customer while minimizing disruption.”
