This IDC study examines different types of home offices and their preferences for printers and MFP brands and technology.

"Home office households and home-based businesses continue to represent an important opportunity for IT vendors," says Justin Jaffe, senior research analyst in IDC' s Home Office Market program. "As home office households continue to add, replace, and upgrade printers and MFPs, it is important for vendors to understand the changing dynamics away from single-function printers in favor of multifunction devices and the increasing appeal of more sophisticated color laser/solid ink technology."
