Currently, Polyaniline (PAN) production capacity in China is about 1400 tons, and products can be divided into three varieties, namely emeraldine base (EB) form of polyaniline, conductive polyaniline and soluble polyaniline. Most of manufacturers use PAN as raw materials and produce it for self-use, and PAN is mainly used in anticorrosive paint and anti-static fields as well as printing ink.

The major large PAN manufacturing enterprises are Hunan China Science Ben'an New Materials Co., Ltd., Chongqing Golute Chemical New Material Technology Co., Ltd., Jilin Zhengji Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Hongjun PAN New Material Co., Ltd. etc.

Hunan Ben'an Yada New Materials Co., Ltd. has formed the production capacity of PAN anticorrosive paint of 1000 tons/year, and it is the first domestic enterprise which produces and sells PAN anticorrosive paint. The production capacity of conductive PAN anticorrosive paint in Jilin Zhengji Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. is 2000 tons/year, and its production capacity of conductive PAN anti-static materials is 1000 tons/year.

As early as 2003, American companies such as DuPont, IBM and Allied Signal, Ormecon in Germany, Nesteoy in Finland and Nitto Denko in Japan has basically realized the tons of conductive PAN production, solved difficult problems in solution and melting process and launched the development of industrial scale. After ten years of development, Huidian Research predicted that the demand volume of PAN was around 5000 tons globally in 2013.
