Market Development of China Automotive Seating Industry

As the essential part of car, vehicle seating market capacity has a significant linear relationship with the vehicle production. In recent years, with the continued growth of China auto output, the vehicle seating market is expanding.

According to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China automotive seating market scale was about CNY38.8 billion in 2011. China automobile sales volume continues to increase, which also drives the sales volume of vehicle seating and expands vehicle seating market scale. In 2012 the sales volume in global market has exceeded USD 65 billion, while considering the recent years of changes in China's automotive seating market, Huidian Research estimates that the sales scale was less than CNY 42 billion in 2012 and the number was about CNY 50 billion in 2013 in accordance with auto market development, which is far from matching with current scale of domestic auto industry. However in the aspect of growth rate, the growth of China's automotive seating industry far exceeds global market level.

Key Automotive Seating Enterprises in China

The sales revenue of FAURECIA in China totaled EUR 1.8 billion in 2013, accounting of nearly one tenth of its global businesses. Product sales amount jumped to EUR 1.39 billion in China and growth rate reached up to 27.7%.

FAURECIA sets goals to generate EUR 3.3 billion of sales revenue in China by 2016 and global sales revenues will be EUR 22 billion, representing that about 15 % of global sales revenues are generated in China. FAURECIA are centralizing the resources to further expand Chinese market scale, and its overall plan is to build more factories in China from 35 to 55 ones by 2016.
