This IDC Retail Insights report discusses the state of RFID
in the retail industry.
"The most successful IT initiatives are those
that deliver on the promise of the business case that
won budgetary approval for the project. Many of the RFID
initiatives under way right now in retail are precisely this
kind of initiative. Immature technology and processes no longer hinder
the ambitions and promise of RFID in retail. In fact,
RFID-enabled item-level inventory management processes are enabling real reductions in
inventory management costs and reductions in out of stocks (OOS).
As a result, customer satisfaction levels go up, customer loyalty
