Asia and Oceania will witness substantial oil and gas pipeline additions from both producers and consumers by 2018. Australia is planning to build several natural gas pipelines, which will connect its natural gas producing fields with LNG export terminals. The country is expected to incur the highest capital expenditure spending on oil and gas pipelines among all countries in Asia and Oceania by 2018 accounting for 47% of the total capex spending. On the other hand, major oil and gas consuming countries such India and China will continue to build extensive pipeline network in order to satisfy their growing hydrocarbon needs. India will witness the highest planned oil and gas pipeline length addition in Asia and Oceania with a total length of 19,499 km for the period 2014-2018. West-East Gas III in China, a natural gas pipeline, is the longest planned pipeline in the region with a total length of 5,220 km. Indian Oil Corporation Limited will be the operator of the longest planned oil and gas pipeline length while Chevron Australia Pty Ltd will witness the highest capital expenditure spending of US$54.3 billion by 2018.
