Czech Republic has a total installed capacity of 20,612 MW with installed nuclear capacity of 3,678 MW in 2010. The Czech Republic has six nuclear power reactors operating in the country with 26 billion kWh of nuclear power generated as of 2010. The nuclear energy contributes around 31% of country’s electricity generation. The nuclear reactors are of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) type. Nuclear energy plays an important role in the Czech Republic’s electricity generation mix. CEZ, a.s is the key player in the Czech Republic’s nuclear energy industry.
