A Growth Opportunity for Telecom Service Providers

The M2M market in APAC is driven by the mobile operators, which have been relying on cellular M2M connectivity for a growing source of revenue to counter the decline in traditional voice and data revenue. The number of M2M connections in the APAC market was 113.7 million in 2015. The market is expected to expand at a CAGR of 32.7% from 2015 to 2020 to reach 467.4 million connections by 2020. Although Japan has been ahead of China in terms of the maturity of ecosystem, China has been driving the adoption of M2M connectivity over the last couple of years with the government initiatives (highest in APAC) in providing end-to-end solutions for enterprises.
