Abstract

This IDC Financial Insights report examines the reaction of consumers to the possible introduction of mobile payments into the Canadian marketplace. The first and second parts of the report profile the Canadian consumer. First, their mobile device ownership and behaviors are examined and profiled. Second, their ownership and usage of payment methods are examined and profiled. The third and final section of the report introduces the concept of mobile payments to consumers. The reaction to the concept is examined in depth and includes a market segmentation that identifies both target groups and the strategies to reach those target groups.
