Abstract
With Britain' s cinema industry now moving quickly towards full digital
conversion, this twentieth edition of Cinemagoing looks forward to the cost
savings this will offer, and the more complicated cinema business it is
ushering in. Elements already evident include greater segmentation within and
between venues, a wider range of product, and increasingly complex pricing -
all aimed to obtain the highest possible revenues from different customer
groups.
In the meantime, continued high levels of interest in the industry on the part
of investors looks likely to see yet more changes of ownership.
The report includes supplementary databases covering key industry data from
admissions and box office through tax rates to ancillary revenues from screen
