Abstract

This report offers a comprehensive picture of the furniture sector in Japan, providing trends in furniture production and consumption, furniture imports and exports, prices. Factors determining the demand for furniture are examined, as well as furniture distribution and furniture supply structure.

Japanese furniture production is broken down by product: wood furniture (beds, cabinets and shelves, cabinets for sound systems, cooking counters, tables and chairs), metal furniture (beds, cabinets and shelves, cooking counters, desks).

Short profiles are provided for the main Japanese furniture manufacturers and distributors.
