Rice, originated from China and as the most important grain crop for Chinese, also takes a very important role globally, especially in Asia. It is the agricultural commodity with the third-highest worldwide production, after sugarcane and maize, according to 2012 FAOSTAT data.

From 2010 to 2015, the planting area of rice in China is quite stable, around 450 million mu. That brings stable demand of rice insecticides in China's market and many international players show a strong interest in investing rice market, including Bayer, Syngenta, Nihon Nohyaku, Mitsui, Dongbu, Sipcam, Sinon, Nufarm, ADAMA, Agrolex, Gharda and so on.

According to CCM's investigation, the total value of China's rice insecticides was around USD840 million in 2014 and that's a huge market. It's estimated that the yearly growth rate of domestic rice pesticide market will be around 2.5% in the next few years. Nowadays, rice insecticides with low toxicity are becoming more and more popular in the market and a large number of alternative products have emerged.
