Beer growth in the US was driven by so-called "better beer", in the form of craft brews, imports and super premium brands. Consumers are increasingly shifting their consumption (and disposable income) away from traditional brand leaders to a broader range of products. Metal can dominates the beer packaging and many of the larger and better known craft beer brands now see a move into can as an important step to grow their business on a regional or national scale.
