Summary

Carbonates are far from seeing a turnaround in the negative trend that is currently reigning as it is suffering from an unhealthy image and is increasingly associated with the growing problem of obesity, particularly in children. Even with immense efforts to reduce sugar in drinks, combined with smaller sizes and other activities aimed at sugar reduction, the consumer's suspicion has been awakened and will take a long time to calm down again The price wars between retail chains in recent years have made the price difference between NFC juice and nectars much smaller and consumers generally prefer a higher quality, natural, NFC juice. Considering the saturated market of alcoholic drinks, shifts within the category are rather likely. Specialty beers and alcoholic variants are expected to grow at the expense of volume driver Pils.
