Network management systems (NMS) generated USD4.7 billion in revenue worldwide during 2014, up 2% from USD4.6 billion in 2013.
Huawei Technologies gained leadership of the NMS market in 2014, with a 21.5% share of worldwide revenue.
Ericsson took second place with a 19.8% share. Alcatel-Lucent, Nokia Networks and Cisco retained their positions in third, fourth and fifth place, respectively. ZTE moved into sixth place ahead of Samsung, which dropped out of the top six.
The top-six network equipment providers (NEPs) accounted for 80% of revenue in this highly consolidated market. Increased spending on LTE network deployments - particularly in China - and data centre interconnects were the main drivers behind the 2% year-on-year growth in the worldwide NMS market in 2014.
