Abstract
“With proper planning, M2M will be 1000 times more profitable than
mobile data and as lucrative for operators as SMS.” Terry Norman,
Principal Analyst.
M2M is set to be as profitable as SMS. But operators are concerned about: the
impact M2M traffic will have on their networks; how M2M traffic will grow;
what the important M2M services are; and how much it will cost to deliver M2M
services. This Report helps operators to answer these important questions.
This Report provides:
- a forecast of M2M traffic for the period 2011 to 2016
- total M2M traffic split by region (Central and Eastern Europe, Central and
South America, Developing Asia - Pacific, Emerging Asia - Pacific, the Middle
East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and Western Europe)
- traffic per M2M device, split by region
- the total number of mobile M2M devices, split by region
- mobile M2M devices split by technology generation, and by region
- total M2M traffic split by service, and mature/emerging markets
- an analysis of:
- the traffic contribution of 20 M2M device types
- the M2M market conditions, including: drivers, inhibitors, the value chain
and standards activity.
