英國的商用機構用玻璃市場分析 Commercial Glazing Market Report - UK 2015-2019 Analysis
出版日期: 2015年10月15日 內容資訊: 英文 83 Pages

SUMMARY OF REPORT CONTENTS

The commercial glazing market saw a modest increase in 2013, and significant growth in 2014 appears to have been sustained and improved upon in 2015 with prospects for growth in the market over the next 4-5 years looking positive. Following a period of decline between 2008 and 2011, the market began to stabilise from 2011 onwards, due to improving conditions in the Central London office construction sector, education and leisure construction sectors. Growth in 2014-2015 has been mainly stimulated by increasing demand in the office construction sector and in H2 2015, there are signs of growing demand for new Grade A office space in London and certain other cities - e.g. Leeds and Birmingham - which is likely to stimulate growth for commercial windows and curtain wall from 2016 onwards.

The education sector is also likely to see growing demand with the introduction of the Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP) in England as the replacement for BSF, which should deliver £2.5bn worth of new schools to complete in 2017. The University Technical Colleges programme is also likely to boost output growth into the medium-term, with similar programmes underway in Scotland and Wales. However, other end use markets are currently less optimistic. In healthcare, the shift from building large hospitals towards primary care facilities has meant less demand for curtain wall, roof glazing and windows. The decline in High Street retailing - as well as in retail parks and out-of town developments - will probably continue, as online shopping continues to penetrate the market. In addition, the grocery multiple sector is experiencing a major cutback in store development programmes.

In terms of product sectors, our estimates indicate that the largest segment by value is commercial windows, followed by Curtain wall and ground floor treatments. Roof glazing accounts for the smallest share at less than 10%. Aluminium is the dominant frame material in the commercial glazing market, but timber, PVCu, steel and composites all have reasonable shares and sector strengths.

Among the systems companies, the market has remained fragmented with no truly dominant suppliers. In the aluminium systems supply sector, there appears to be a decreasing level of market concentration with the 10 largest accounting for ~90% of this market. However, the reduced level of activity in the commercial glazing market in 2012-2013 led to a significant contraction among fabricators and installers with several players ceasing trading. The bespoke façade and roof glazing sector is dominated by European contractors although their sales have been somewhat diminished by contracts ending on major developments. In other product sectors there has been relatively little change other than some smaller companies going out of business.
