Brain-to-Machine Interfaces (BMI) are technologies that allow a human to control a computer, peripheral or other electronic machine with only their thoughts. It is commonly done using electrodes to detect electrical signals in the brain that are sent to the machine. The machine then translates the electrical signals into data, which is used to control a computer or device linked to the machine.

Traditionally the focus of medical implants, the BMI market is evolving with a variety of consumer-oriented products for health & wellness, stress management, human behavior analysis, and gaming control.
