Network Architectures for Quad Play
Thursday, 7 June | 16:15 – 17:45

Telecom operators are faced with intense competition and declining revenues from fixed voice. At the same time, they are trying to reduce operational costs and increase the ARPU from their broadband subscribers. These factors are pushing them toward the delivery of triple-play services.

As a result, service providers are rolling out new service delivery architectures that will be the foundation for their service rollouts over the next five to 10 years for both consumer and residential markets.

This session will present new technologies and mechanisms to service providers to increase the coverage of their broadband access network, using remote deployments, new DSL technologies (e.g., ADSL2plus, VDSL2), or deep fiber deployment (e.g., FTTN, PON). The access network will need to transform for them to deploy all their services to each customer regardless of their access technology.
