Delivering IPTV and Internet Video over a Converged IP Infrastructure
Thursday, 7 June | 9:00 – 10:30

IP video technologies and IMS are enabling a converged IP infrastructure that delivers communication and entertainment services for wireline and wireless access. Network convergence benefits service providers with lower OPEX and CAPEX. As telecommunications companies become entertainment and communication companies, mobility of content and services will become a key differentiator.

The convergence of networks also benefits content providers by providing access to customers through multiple access services, increasing their touch points and service availability. Mobility of services also ensures that end users have a consistent experience regardless of whether they are accessing content through their PC, TV, mobile phone, or PDA.

This session will examine the industry drivers for providing IPTV and Internet video content over an IP network. The panel will provide a real-world perspective on the relevant technologies and carrier investment trends.
