As SPs offer an increasingly robust array of broadband experiences, they confront the question of where exactly WiMAX fits into the mix of broadband access technologies and how WiMAX will affect their existing network business models. SPs need to know the technical and business issues to consider before launching WiMAX and what role it plays in the evolution of seamless mobility.
The speaker will describe the results of recent commercial WiMAX deployments, analyze the performance numbers, and discuss the emerging WiMAX business models for seamless wireless services delivery. He will examine how WiMAX will impact existing services and explain how WiMAX provides the glue for seamless mobility among such technologies as cellular, broadband wireless, Wi-Fi, and wireline. He will discuss how SPs can overlay 2G cellular networks with WiMAX, discuss how 3G operators can leverage WiMAX to improve backhaul operations, and make recommendations for WiMAX greenfield installations.
