Abstract
This Manufacturing Insights report draws on the results of Manufacturing Insights' Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) or APEJ Manufacturing Vertical Market survey, carried out in from September to November 2007, among 149 organizations in the consumer products (CP) manufacturing segment across nine countries in the APEJ region. The focus of the study is on both business and IT priorities as well as initiatives of APEJ CP manufacturers in 2007 and 2008.
"CP manufacturing represents one of the key sectors of growth in the APEJ region, fuelled by increased consumption and disposable income of the population in the APEJ region. At the same time, this segment is also extremely competitive. Manufacturers need to prepare themselves with strong innovation, process, and information management capability, as well as develop superior collaboration with channel partners, in order to establish sustainable growth," says Debashis Tarafdar, senior research manager, Asia/Pacific Manufacturing Research, Manufacturing Insights, IDC Asia/Pacific.
