Abstract
This study provides an analysis of the results of IDC-Manufacturing Insights' most recent survey carried out in Germany, France, the U.K., Italy, and Spain. The results are based on 153 interviews with automotive firms in Western Europe.
The aim of this study is to understand how IS budget spending and distribution is developing among automotive enterprises in Western Europe.
The study is one of a series of studies, which include:
- IT vendor selection criteria and level of satisfaction
- Analysis of business solution adoption and investment plans
"Survey results show that the most important IT organization improvement in the European automotive industry over the next 12 months concerns the ability to provide improved, integrated access to relevant information and data," said Pierfrancesco Manenti, EMEA research director, Manufacturing Insights. "This supports one of the key research findings from Manufacturing Insights, which anticipates that the next wave of IT investments will be less about creating more information and more about putting the information available to better use by getting it in front of knowledge workers, in the right context. Speed up! The Web 2.0 revolution is here to stay."
