Abstract
The report is devoted to investigation of current standing of market of tin in Russia and forecast of the market development up to 2015. The report consists of 10 Sections, contains 60 pages, including 12 Figures, 37 Tables and Appendix. This work is desk study. As information sources, we used data of Rosstat, Inter-state Committee on Statistics of CIS countries, Federal Customs Service of Russia, official domestic railage statistic of JSC RZhD (former Ministry of Railway Transport of Russia), sectoral (industrial) and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of companies, as well as data from web-sites of company-producers.
The first Section of the report presents brief characteristics of current standing of global market of tin.
The second Section of the report presents brief characteristics of current standing of market of tin in the CIS (summarized in tabular form).
The third Section presents is devoted to analysis of current standing of mineral resources base of tin in CIS countries, the bulk of which belongs to Russia, as well as to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The fourth Section briefly presents data on mining of vein and placer tin and production of tin concentrate in the CIS.
The fifth Section of the report presents description of current standing of the main tin-mining enterprises in the CIS. The bulk of tin in mined in Russia.
Data on production of tin metal and tin-based alloys in the CIS are shown in Section 6 (in brief tabular form). The sole producer of tin in the CIS territory is JSC «Novosibirsk tin combine» (NOK). The sixth Section of the report is devoted to analysis of current standing of NOK.
The eighth Section of the report presents data on Russian foreign trade in tin concentrates and tin metal.
The ninth Section of the report presents analysis of consumption of tin in the CIS, including supply-demand balance of tin, sectoral (by end-uses) pattern of tin consumption, description of current standing of the greatest enterprise-consumers. Consumption of tin in CIS countries, except Russia, is determined by tin imports only. In the CIS, tin is consumed in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The main end-uses of tin are production of tin-plate and nonferrous metal alloys (solders, babbit, bronze). Tin is used in food packing (in lining cans) and in machine building.
The tenth Section of the report presents forecast of development of market of tin in the CIS up to 2010. InfoMine expects increasing production of tin in Russia in nearest years, owed by expanding production volumes in machine building and food industries (key tin end-uses) in CIS countries.
The appendix presents contact information on the main enterprise - producers of tin concentrates, tin metal and tin-containing alloys and similar data on tin consumers.
